OUR STORY
How it all started.
As our children's interest in biking grew so did the number of bikes we had to tow all around New Zealand. In 2018 during a family visit to the Crankworx mountain biking festival in Whistler, Canada, we saw the vertical style racks which were uncommon in New Zealand. Upon returning to New Zealand I decided to make a vertical rack for our family to transport our mountain bikes around. After several design and build cycles, I ended up with a basic rack that could carry 6 bikes. Whilst on holiday in Rotorua I was overwhelmed with interest from fellow Kiwis to the point where I decided to turn my prototype into a business.

Shredder Racks was born.
We needed a business name, and Shredder was an obvious choice as many people referred to our kids as “Little Shredders” – the name stuck.
We started manufacturing Shredder Racks, improving the product to make it easier and safer to transport your bikes, and offering optional extras.
Our main goal is to keep it simple, safe and easy for people to use Shredder Racks. We aim to provide options for all vehicle types from SUV’s to Vans to Utes.
We love to give back and over the years we have supported many different events such as BMX, Enduros, Emergency Services, Crankworx, Mountain Bike Clubs, Whaka 100, Schools and the “Spirited Women” events.
Shredder Racks has been a popular choice by many over the years and continues to produce quality items and solve customer’s bike hauling problems.
