How do I order a Shredder Rack?
Submit an Order on our website, we will then email you through an invoice and can assemble and despatch the rack after payment has been received.
Do Shredder Racks freight around New Zealand?
Yes we use a National freight company and can send around New Zealand for an additional freight cost. The racks are pre-assembled for despatch and assembly and installation instructions will be emailed out to you.
Can I collect my Shredder Rack?
Yes you can collect from our workshop in New Plymouth by arrangement.
Can Shredder Racks carry e-bikes?
Yes – each hoop will take 28kgs. The racks will carry e-bikes (excluding e-bikes with full mudguards).
How heavy is a Shredder Rack?
3-bike 27kg, 4-bike 31kg, 5-bike 35kg, 6-bike 39kg
Do I need to tie my Shredder Rack back?
We recommend using tieback straps when fully loaded especially with e-bikes.
What do I tie my Shredder Rack back to for extra support?
There are a few options – roof runners or using hatch anchors are good options.
Can I lay the Shredder Rack back with bikes on?
Yes – however consider the collective weight of the bikes.
Can Shredder Racks fit a standard towbar and tow-ball?
Yes there are options – see Connection Options.
What type of tow bar / hitch do I need?
A square hitch is best but Shredder Racks has tow ball options – see Connection Options.
Will a Shredder Rack work with a canopy?
Yes lots of setup positions to suit your vehicle.
What size wheel bikes can fit on the Shredder Racks?
The racks carry 24” to 29” as standard, we sell a 20” adaptor kit as an optional accessory to fit 20” wheel bikes (including BMX bikes – extra padding may be required as hoops designed for larger tyres).
Can Shredder Racks carry road bikes?
Our racks are designed to carry mountain bikes – some customers do carry road bikes at their own discretion (extra padding may be required as hoops designed for larger tyres).
